AZONTO PARTY

On the 6^th of July, at around 8pm, the Francis Idibiye Auditorium of the Federal University Of Technology Akure was blazing with music from one of the best disc jockeys in south western part of Nigeria, Dj Whales. The talented young entertainer was feeding our ears with street music. The Auditorium was rebranded into a dance hall with lightning effects and fog fluid. The V shape arraigned chairs was another attention puller.

Going back 2 weeks before, the organizers of this event came to me for publicity and the first thought that ran through my mind was that parties in FUTA has always being a failure but I never knew this is coming with a new dimension. FUTARIANS took the news with anxiety and expectations due to the fact that it’s the first social event in that semester and also the first event organized by the new student union.

The party was organized by TEAM6 in conjunction with FUTASU and was proudly sponsored by MASSIVE entertainment. McRhelax and Pricillia of futaradio 93.1fm anchored the event. The red-carpet was handled by Eldot and T-WYSE.

Musical performance from fissy ‎​‎K, Sure Boi, Adaba, and so on kept FUTARIANS on line.

Dance performance from Da Unit, Transformer was also on point... Another show banger was the performance from the school best entertainment crew H2O. Mehn these guys were seriously on point.

Speaking with a member of TEAM6, these were his own contributions.

Me: would like to know when you guys started thinking about the show

Jeffizy: it all started during the first semester break.

Me: so who came up with the idea?

Jeffizy: em06 brought the idea of storming FUTA with something unique and I thought it could be more interesting with the lightning effects and the AZONTO dance video clips. The other members helped physically and financially.

Me: did you go through any problem getting support from any faction of the school?

Jeffizy: yeah! It took the student union a long time before approving and rendering their support financially

Me: so this crew, TEAM6 hosted this party, who are the members?

Jeffizy: we have em06 who is the Director of Socials (FUTASU), Me, Tope, Djflexy, M’simo and simplicity.

Me: what is your final view about the party?

Jeffizy: “I’m so glad that despite our difficulties, God helped us to achieve our aim and he made the show a reality, not just reality but one of the best shows ever held in FUTA.

“I was in charge of security and tickets, I have a lot to say, it wasn’t easy. The show was a very big success, the biggest show I’ve ever attended in FUTA. it was the talk of the school.
